Clegg Designs offers a range of Design Consultancy, Mechanical Design and Design Management services. We specialise in the design and integration of machinery and the mechanical product design of equipment with a key focus on risk mitigation and safety in design. We have an extensive background in hoists, winches and lifting equipment, rigging systems and bespoke access and material handling solutions that are operating in a high-risk environment.

Much of this experience and design work is focused within the theatre and entertainment industry with the design of stage machinery and theatre integrated systems, however the unique skill set of the business provides a service that can be beneficial in many other industries.

The services we offer and concepts and solutions that we develop encompass the entire product life cycle: designed for manufacture, installation, operation, service, end of life, removal and disposal.

We can be involved in a project at any stage. We can oversee the design as a consultant and offer an expert opinion, particularly in the field of theatre machinery, hoisting and rigging, or can be involved right from “we have a problem”, to drawings for conceptual design, engineering calculations, detailed component drawings for manufacture, assembly drawings, technical data, bills of materials and programming for the products and installations.
